5 out of 5 stars Living Prove   July 28, 2010
Zmyal (South Bend, INDIANA United States)
I am a living prove for this DVD. I have lost in total over 25lbs over 2 and half months. I have worked out 5 to 6 times a week. DO NOT be fooled, you need to lower your calories intake in order to achieve result. You cannot lose weight and keep the same eating habits that drove you to be overweight to begin with.

The people complaining about the music or that the workout is too tough, they are nothing less than idiots. You know Jillian and you know her style, she is not soft and you know it. About the music... who is listening? you need to focus on the workout not the music. I don't even hear the music!

Limit your daily calories intake to 1,400 calories
Work the "20 minutes" 6 to 7 times a week
Be honest with yourself! don't say "well I walked the dog today, then I do not have to workout" it DOES NOT work this way, and you know it.

if you belong to the lazy complainers of our society, don't even bother to buy this DVD.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome!   July 28, 2010

This is a great workout! It is only 20 minutes but when you are finished you feel as if you have been going for an hour! I have used it just a few times and I already notice a difference in my stamina and strength. It is an awesome workout. Jillian is great, the moves are fluid and not difficult and she cues well. If you are looking for something easy pass this up. If you want results and you are willing to push yourself get it!

5 out of 5 stars amazing results even if little weight loss   July 28, 2010

on day 16 doing every day - 10 days on level 1, on level 2 and plan to go to level 3 august 1. very little weight lost to date but noticeable smaller thighs, butt, chest, face, waist etc. trying to do everyday for the 30 days and see about the weight loss. really impressive for 20 minutes and way better than any other workout videos I've done. Do think the menu/beginning that you can't get through easily is super annoying but I just use that time to put on my shoes and get ready.

5 out of 5 stars Hate working out, Love this video!   July 27, 2010
Nikky (Medford, Oregon)
I'm one of those lucky people who never works out and can eat what I want without gaining weight. I've always wanted to work out, but hate that pukey feeling afterwards, so I just don't. A recent trip to the doctors office found that I have high blood pressure so I decided to do something about it. This video is awesome! It's only my first day using it so I've only done phase 1. I can't believe it was only 20 minutes! I love the 3-2-1 system and how it changes things up and keeps it interesting. It sure beats 20 boring minutes on the elliptical. The strength training and ab workouts were good, but the cardio kicked my butt! I was sweating and had shaky legs by the end of the 20 minutes sans the pukey feeling. I love it! If you hate working out, give this dvd a try. It was actually a lot of fun!

5 out of 5 stars You'll be surprised   July 27, 2010

After just day one you'll feel like Gumby.... And the morning after you'll be in pain... I walked around the house stiff for the first couple of days because my calves were so tight...
But it's totally worth it in the end! This DVD will kick your butt!

Three Tips to Help Planning Retirement
By Brenda Cyr

Thinking about retirement is not usually on the top of our list of things to do. Then suddenly we reach the point in out life when retirement is close to becoming a reality. At that point, you really need help in planning your retirement. Sure, we think about it from time to time, but never take any action on our thoughts. Don't let lack of action destroy your retirement, and leave you working well into your seventies. Use these three tips to help plan your retirement and to get started today.

1. Be Realistic about Retirement. Most people don't take the time to sit down and figure out how much money they will need for their retirement. Here is an easy way to plan what you'll need for retirement. Take the amount of money you are now living on per year, and subtract the amount of money you can save once the kids move out, and you downsize to a smaller home and car. Take that amount and multiply it by how many years you think you will need to live on your savings. The average life expectancy is 80 years.

2. Make a Budget. This will be one of the biggest helpers for planning retirement finances. Take out a sheet of paper and write down all your monthly expenses. Include your utilities, credit cards, groceries, and everything that you spend money on through the month. Make sure that you add a set amount for retirement savings. The next step is to subtract this amount from your take home income. Do you have anything left over? If you do, that is excellent. You can use these savings for a rainy day account.

3. Cut Back on Expenses. You already knew this was coming. You have a budget, and know what you are spending; now it's time to see where you can cut back so you can put more money into your retirement account. You don't have to cut out all the luxuries in your life, but you might find that by renting movies more often, rather than taking the family to the theater will let you enjoy more luxuries when you retire.

These three tips will help you get started saving for your retirement. Of course, there are many resources available to help planning for retirement. There are many aspects of retirement to consider as well- your health, your social life, your leisure activities and hobbies. By following these three tips, you will be taking action to help you plan for the best retirement possible.

Retirement Facts

In the private sector, participation by type of retirement plan has largely reversed over the past quartercentury: 'Traditional' defined benefit pension plans were dominant in 1979, but have been overtaken by defined contribution (401(k)-type) plans. The share of workers who are in both a defined benefit and defined contribution plan has remained fairly constant over the years.
